Is African American Literature An Easy Crossover?

It’s been from my own personal experience that other cultures and races engage in reading my books just as much as African Americans.  Therefore, what people call the crossover is very easy due to the fact that many other cultures haven’t the slightest idea about black experiences, and this even follows the smallest item such as African American hair which was obvious through Chris Rock’s Good Hair movie.  For the most part, Caucasian Americans’ interest in this soared because, honestly, many had no idea about how and what African American women and men do to their hair across the board.

From my experiences speaking and selling at book festivals around the country, African American literature draws  interest of equal if not more from cultures other that its own, especially if it is out of the range of romance.
