DESCRIBE FIRST DEGREE SINS

First Degree SinsFirst Degree Sins is a novel that combines urban with pulp fiction as the lives of people collide although the story follows one central person.  This is the first novel that I’ve written of this type, the closest thing remotely similar is Murders at Gabriel’s Trails which is an urban series that was written prior to it.

First Degree Sins is, if I can describe it as such, a class act.  The story has a unique ability to bring rage, love, jealousy, suspense, devastation, and secrecy into the same pool with sarcasm, fear, fun and even senses of morality all in a twenty-four hour period of nonstop action and drama.  First Degree Sins is fueled by despair, deception, greed, disdain, and a woman scorned.  The details of the story captivated me throughout…and I’m the author.  I’ve read many books, and I’ve never read a book like this one…ever.  It’s one of my favorites.

WHO IS THE MAIN CHARACTER?

Lisa Caldwell is a regular woman who grew up wanting to be in love, and ended up falling for the love of her life.  She’s an exceptional woman, possibly too great, for the husband that takes her for granted while manipulating her to get his way.  Lisa is the type of woman that no person wants to push into a corner, physically, mentally or emotionally, because her ultimate goal is to fix things for herself, or in other words, survive.  The fight for her own survival could bring on the worst that anyone could ever imagine…even sins in the first degree.

HOW PREDICTABLE IS THE STORY?

Very UN.  There is absolutely no way possible that anyone can predict the outcome of the story, nor can anyone tell what the book has in store simply from the book’s cover beyond bloodshed.  This was done purposely because as anyone who knows my writing styles is aware of, there is one thing that will always remain – unpredictability.  There are many things within the middle pages that would be totally missed if one flips to the first three pages and last ten.  I prefer a great cake over sugared toppings sprinkled on the outer core when it comes to any book project, especially a novel such as First Degree Sins.  I want my readers to eat and enjoy the whole thing, not just lick the icing and toss the bigger slice.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO WRITE THE STORY?

It took me a little less than two months.  The editing process went over the release date, and that’s only because with a story so engaging and detailed, everything must be placed just right for things to read perfectly for the outcome to be outstanding.  Even after the edit, I had to read it myself once again from start to finish because I really wanted this book to bring a different vibe to my readers as well as show my versatility as a professional writer and author.  I refuse to be one dimensional because I write for everyone.
