Francisco Costa Gown Worn By Lupita Nyong’o At Oscars – STOLEN

UPDATE 10:13pm:  Lupita’s dress has been found apparently in a garment bag at the hotel from whence it was stolen after the thief called TMZ and told them the pearls were FAKES.  According to People, the thieves had already started removing the pearls (and even I said they would do that…pops collar) when they noticed that they weren’t the real deal.

So do we say that the custom gown wasn’t worth much a pearl?  No.  Lupita Nyong’o was the gown’s gift, so it is worth even more than originally thought.

Remember how beautiful Lupita Nyong’o was a the Oscars? Well…that pearl laced, made by Francisco Costa for the CK collection, custom 150 thousand dollar need-I-say-more stunning gown…has been stolen. According to reports, Lupita wasn’t in the room when the gown went missing, but even though the gown was said to cost in the hundreds of thousands, the worth of it with all the pearls is said to be in the millions.

So look, because whoever stole the dress isn’t going to wear it, my assumption is that they will remove all the pearls and then sell them on the black market. At least that’s how my story telling brain operates.  At least Lupita Nyong’o is here, still standing and wonderful.
