Movie Review: Straight Outta Nollywood’s WHEN LOVE HAPPENS … YES!!!

I know I haven’t been on in a while with movie review, and that’s partly because I hadn’t watched one that took me all the way to the dumps or super high and into the sky…until now. The movie that I am about to tell you about is one that I have fallen all the way in love with and will definitely watch again — WHEN LOVE HAPPENS. (It’s on Netflix, btw)

So this movie isn’t brand new at all. In fact, I think it has a sequel titled WHEN LOVE HAPPENS AGAIN, but all I can say is that last night after watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta (yep, I’m back watching), I was struck hard by what I would describe as a romantic comedy with all the everything anyone needs to feel like their time was well spent lounging back like I did watching a flick that made me giggle, sigh and get my “girl, you better get him” on.

Check out the trailer because the uploaders won’t allow embedding…???…which could only help the free traffic and promotion…but anyway. Off of that and onto the movie …

It’s about this really witty, intelligent and hilarious event planner who is ticked because she simply can’t find love – real love. She’s so ticked and tired of being overlooked that she finally dives into online dating. Skipping through all the spoilers because the movie is so great that I don’t want to drop the full load, she eventually finds how tricky romance/relationships can be and how sometimes it is found in the oddest of places.

Thing is, you really fall in love with her personality during her whole search for love, and the characters that surround her cause make it that much BETTER.

Basically, I was soooooo hoping that the movie would end well after all the moments I cheered and hopped around on my bed wondering what and when the heck she was going to do whatever, and to my delight, the movie ended sooooooo freaking right it’s crazy. I was terrified it wouldn’t because I have watched a couple or more international movies where some force you to decide the freaking ending. That, to me, is so wack, especially when a movie delivers the whole way through.  The last thing you want is to write the dang script yourself, you know what I mean? I want the full out beginning, middle and end, and WHEN LOVE HAPPENS gave me that and life!!

I almost wondered where all the passion and romance went in movies of today representing regular people. Mostly, it’s all just jump in the sack and deuces, boo….but not this flick. It’s a breath of fresh motherland air.

I give it and the actors five stars out of five. They worked that. Kudos. Love ’em. I have some new faves.Watch it.  You’ll love it.
