I haven’t read Hidden Figures yet, but of course, I must. We all must. Author Margot Lee Shetterly has, as she states when she speaks in the interview below about it being our “responsibility to tell these stories and to bring them to the larger audience”, brought to life the story of three African American women of NASA (whom I would have possibly died without even knowing) to print and now the big screen.

In the amazing story of these ladies, it is pointed out yet again how lost most of the stories of African Americans are. What is truly amazing is that I am finding more and more people who feel and felt the same exact way I feel and have felt for the longest about this same issue which is why I chose to write stories that I’ve never read before with African American characters.
